6 figures is seen as a great yearly salary or the price of a dream car, but when you start looking into the specialty drug market, you find that many of these life-saving medications carry a 6-figure price tag per pill (and some go higher than that!).

Obviously, I don't think that means you should stop taking that pill if it's critical to your health. However, there are often generic versions that are a fraction of the cost that have the same health benefits, and if there aren't, there are better, more affordable ways to source the name-brand drug.
