I love this Country.
I love its people.
I love the American Spirit.
I think change only happens to our healthcare system when we channel that spirit.
We need Americans aware enough, and angry enough, to mandate a better way forward.
Every day I think about what I can do to speak to this voice that lives in all of us?
What solutions can I shine a light on that inspire action?
Which thought leaders can I talk to who see things I don’t?
The fact of the matter is this:
👉 Healthcare is nearly 20% of our GDP and costs us over $4.5T a year.
👉 Healthcare inflation outpaces general inflation by a 2-3x margin.
👉 Family premiums have risen over 300% in the last 20 years.
👉 It now costs nearly $25,000/year to provide a family in the U.S. health insurance.
And that is simply for the privilege to use the system and pay even more out of pocket.
If this doesn’t change, our system will implode.
Maybe that is inertia, or maybe that is the intent?
I am not sure.
But either way, it's time to get angry and get moving.
Healthcare needs a Revolution, and it’s time we Cross the Delaware once again.
And is it a coincidence that I got this fired up while sitting next to a United States Marine?
No chance.
