After my freshman year of college, I transferred from Drury University to Southern Methodist University in pursuit of the highest level of Division 1 soccer.
That transition was very difficult at first, as I found myself at SMU being at the bottom of the pecking order.
After being shell-shocked initially, I made the commitment to work hard and grow to be competitive at the #3 school in the nation at the time.
It taught me lessons about competition, hard work, and what it takes to compete at the highest level of college soccer with incredibly gifted athletes.
A dozen of them went on to have pro soccer careers and our coach went on to coach FC Dallas! 🤯
That desire to compete with the best, have my production quantified, but still work collectively within a company to achieve a shared mission, are all invaluable lessons I brought over from soccer to sales.
